Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-25

IT History (history.itlibra.com, "this site") respects user privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal data. The operator is itlibra. Reach us through the contact form.

1. Information we collect

This site automatically collects:

  • Server access logs: IP address, user agent, referrer, timestamp, request URL (standard web server logs).
  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4) usage statistics: page views, time on page, device class, coarse geo location (country/region), referral source. Measurement ID: G-C709MPSGS0.
  • Google AdSense ad delivery: cookies used for ad personalisation.
  • Site search queries: processed client-side only; not transmitted to our server.

The site has no account, comment, or subscription form, so we do not actively request name, email, or other personal identifiers.

2. How we use the data

  • Site usage analytics and improvement
  • Detection of abuse and attacks
  • Ad delivery (via Google AdSense)

3. Cookies

Opening a page on this site sets cookies from the third-party services below. There is no consent banner — they are set as the page loads, and the controls are the reader-side ones listed after the table.

Three ways to stop them: block cookies in your browser settings, turn off personalisation in Google Ad Settings above, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. In every case, reading this site does not require cookies.

4. Sharing with third parties

We do not sell or transfer personal data to third parties without your consent, except:

  • When required by law
  • To service providers necessary for running the site (VPS host, Google Analytics, Google AdSense)

5. Retention

Server access logs are retained for up to 90 days. Google Analytics retention follows GA4 defaults (up to 14 months).

6. Your rights

Under the EU GDPR, California CCPA, and Japan's APPI, you have the right to:

  • Access data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion ("right to be forgotten")
  • Restrict processing
  • Data portability

To exercise these rights, use the contact form. GA4 data can also be deleted via your Google account directly.

7. Children's data

The site does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we discover such data has been collected by mistake, we will delete it promptly.

8. Security

All communication uses HTTPS (TLS 1.3 or higher). Servers are protected by firewalls and kept up to date with security patches.

9. Changes

This policy may change without prior notice. The "Last updated" date at the top will be revised; material changes will be announced on the site.
